Redesigning the Gift Giving Process Reflection

*DUE TO TECHNICAL ISSUES, I HAD TO MAKE THE VOLUME OF THE ACTUAL VIDEO LOWER. YOU MAY NEED TO TURN UP YOUR VOLUME TO BE ABLE TO HEAR. THANKS!*

At first, I wasn't excited about doing an audio visual presentation because it was something that I didn't do that often.  Doing this project helped me to push myself to learn more about different apps (iMovie). It also made me try something new instead of just staying with what I know and am comfortable with. I still don't necessarily think that it's my favourite method to present with, however I appreciate the new experience with a method that may help me in the future.

  1. I am enjoying watching you admit your difficulties and unexpected surprising results when you push yourself out of your comfort zone. Talissa, you have mentioned this several times and I am glad to see that you are getting more comfortable with not waiting until you have your thoughts "completely sorted out" before sharing. While there is value in being confident in your thoughts, there is also value in "getting out of your head" some and being open-minded and willing to be vulnerable with tasks that require you to take risks. Personally, I am often reserved in sharing thoughts and feelings so I understand reluctance. It is great to see that you are willing to experiment in this course - more so even than last semester with Genius Hour I think. I am looking forward to your "wild" ideas for projects!
Question: did you draft a response or simply talk about your experiences as you filmed them? Did you need to edit a lot? If you did edit and/or draft, I wonder if your original attempts would have shared more of your emotion as you recalled the tasks in Crash Course? Maybe another time you will try simply talking as if having a conversation? Or if you did not script or write out talking points to share, perhaps you try to do so. It would be interesting to see if there is a difference in your audio-visual reflections.
